Coral Gables operates under a commission/manager form of government and is well known for its active and involved citizenry. The ideal candidate must be a strong manager and leader, collaborative, team player and change agent with the ability to inspire exceptional performance from employees. Must be fair, forthcoming, straightforward and have good financial management and budgeting skills. The Police Department has a budget of over $38 million and a total staff of 257, which includes 183 sworn officers and 74 civilians.
Qualifications: Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in law enforcement, to include five years at a senior management level; a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in criminology, law enforcement, business administration, public administration or related field. Prefer Master's or other advanced degree and law enforcement executive training to include FBI or others. Must have or be eligible to obtain certification in the State of Florida as a Police Officer under FDLE standards, within one year of employment.
Salary and benefits package includes: medical, dental and life insurance, leave allowances, retirement plan and more. The current annual salary range is $97,500 to $133,900, DOQ.

Sandwich, Massachusetts - Chief of PoliceThe Town of Sandwich, Massachusetts, population 23,000, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Chief of Police. Position reports to the Town Manager and supervises 35 sworn officers and civilian support staff. Minimum requirements include 15 years active police experience, 7 years supervisory experience, current rank of Lieutenant or higher. Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field, Master's preferred; or any relevant combination of education and experience. Total Salary of $100,000 - $115,000 DOQ plus excellent benefits. The George Washington University Chief of Police
The George Washington University (GW) seeks a Chief of Police to provide overall direction, leadership, and management of the functions and operations of the GW Police Department. Located four blocks from the White House, GW was created by an Act of Congress in 1821. Today, GW is the largest institution of higher education in the nation's capital. The University offers comprehensive programs of undergraduate and graduate liberal arts study as well as degree programs in medicine, law, engineering, education, business, and international affairs. GW includes a diverse population of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students from 50 states, the District of Columbia, and more than 120 countries. The University currently enrolls approximately 20,000 full time equivalent students at all of its campuses in the District of Columbia and Virginia. The University Police Department provides security and police services for the Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon campuses in the Northwest section of Washington, D.C. The Department employs more than 150 uniform personnel, all of whom are special police officers commissioned by, or security officers licensed by the District of Columbia Government. Unarmed, University police officers have the authority to make arrests on GW-owned, leased, or controlled property. The Department maintains a close working relationship with the Metropolitan Police Department and works as appropriate with multiple law enforcement agencies such as the FBI, Homeland Security, and the United States Secret Service. The Department is accredited by both the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators and the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Safety and Security, the Chief of Police will be expected to work collaboratively and proactively with colleagues and other University stakeholders and constituencies, focusing on the security of the University community through the prevention of crime, protection of life and property, and the enforcement of laws and University regulations. The Chief will supervise and evaluate all Department functions to ensure they serve the goals and meet the needs of the campus community. S/he will establish, communicate, and maintain a departmental vision that reflects institutional goals, priorities, and appropriate professional standards. The Chief must be a security and law enforcement leader within an urban and complex university campus, municipal, state, or federal setting with a commitment to community policing, and a strong student orientation and customer and quality focus in the provision of security and law enforcement services. The Chief should be an effective manager who can motivate staff and inspire confidence within the University. S/he must have the interpersonal skills to work effectively with members of the campus community, the ability to navigate within the university, security, and law enforcement environments, and the organizational vision to steer the Department through a time of evolving and changing expectations. Above all, the Chief should be effective in building bridges, partnerships and relationships with the community and across the institution to facilitate a safe and secure environment in which to carry out the mission of the University. The Town of Natick, MA Chief of Police The Town of Natick seeks a highly motivated, accomplished and visionary law enforcement leader to serve as the next Chief of Police. Natick is a suburban residential community with a population of approximately 32,000 located in Middlesex County approximately 18 miles southwest of Boston. The Town covers roughly 16 square miles and hosts the largest retail mall in New England, the Natick Collection located on Route 9. The Police Chief is a non-civil service position serving as chief administrative officer of the department in all matters of policy, operations, and discipline; appointed by the Board of Selectmen, the Chief reports to the Town Administrator for general administrative and policy guidance. The Chief is responsible for the planning, directing, coordinating, controlling and staffing of all activities for the department. The department operations are housed in a modern facility shared with the Natick Fire Department. Staffing is comprised of four Lieutenants, eleven Sergeants, and 37 Police Officers. In addition, the Police Department oversees a combined (Fire, Medical and Police) Public Safety Dispatch Center, which is comprised of nine full-time and three part-time Dispatchers. The Chief is responsible for labor relations among the three unions that represent the Superior Officers, Patrol Officers, and Dispatchers. A competitive compensation package will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in law enforcement; an advanced degree in police science, criminal justice or a related field is preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible work experience in law enforcement of which a minimum of five years has been served in a supervisory capacity. Candidates must have completed an academic program authorized by the Massachusetts Municipal Training Committee or an equivalent academy acceptable to the MPTC.
